Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce

The Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce serves the Gladstone area businesses and residential communities by striving to promote, improve and protect the social and business environment within the area.

The Chamber was incorporated in 1966 by a group of businessmen and continues to serve the community today, 39 years later in a variety of ways. From sponsoring community festivals, legislative forums, and business fairs to providing information about a variety of businesses and civic topics. As we grow into our fourth decade as an organization, we have the opportunity to build on the past and create and even more exciting and lucrative future for us all!

Along with creating newsletters and providing information to members each year the Chamber hosts:

• 11 monthly Membership Luncheons
• 8 monthly After Hours & Beyond-Business After Hours
• Annual Small Business Award
• Annual Golf Tournament
• Awards & Installation Banquet

Plus two community events, the annual Gladstone Summertime Bluesfest and Gladfest, which are co-sponsored with the City of Gladstone.

Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce members use fellow Chamber members for goods and services and they work together to make this community a safer and more prosperous place to live, work and conduct business. In addition the Chamber will:

• make referrals for member businesses
• provide business and residential relocation information
• showcase member brochures and pamphlets
• print labels and mailing lists for a nominal fee
• publish a monthly newsletter
• offer free ribbon cutting ceremonies to Chamber businesses

With over 330 members, the Gladstone Area Chamber is an organization comprised of businesses and people working together for the good of the community, the businesses and the people.

The Chamber has also formed partnerships with all three-area high schools of the North Kansas City School District. They are: North Kansas City High School, Oak Park High School, and Winnetonka High School. With the partnership the Chamber and the Education committee provide welcome bags to new teachers of the North Kansas City School District. The average amount of bags we supply each August is 200. This welcome bag is full of gift certificates and supplies from Chamber members which has provided a great marketing advantage for our members. Also each year at the May Membership Luncheon the Chamber awards scholarships to local high school seniors. In May of 2005, we were able to award three $500 scholarships.

Within our Chamber there are several committees who work to better serve the Chamber, it's members and the community. The committees include: the Education Committee, the Legislative Committee and the Ambassador Committee.

Education Committee: This committee partners with the local school district on the improvement of workforce development.

Legislative Committee: This committee monitors and lobbies legislation affecting businesses and residents at the local, state and national levels.

Ambassador Committee: This committee serves as the public relations liaison to the Chamber by encouraging involvement in monthly events and developing value-added services and benefits.
